Galeries Lafayette

Paris

A shoe lover’s paradise! Part 1

For me, any trip to Paris almost always involves a visit to Galeries Lafayette Haussmann. This 100 year old luxury department store, located in central Paris, has it all when it comes to up market fashion and beauty. The store’s main focus is French luxury goods but visitors will also find an international assortment of brands as well as a wide range of price points.

Galleries Lafayette includes 7 floors of fabulous fashion, beauty and accessories; but, it is on the lower level that you will find a real shoe lover’s paradise. And I do mean paradise. We are talking 34,000 sq ft (3200m2) of space devoted to approximately 150 brands with 75 of them exclusive to the iconic store - making this the largest shoe department in all of Paris.

Although a luxury store, the shoe department represents brands whose price points range from the higher end of moderate to OMG! out of this world expensive. Styles run the fashion gambit - contemporary, luxury, artsy, couture and even athletic.

The multilingual sales staff are helpful and very customer oriented. Shoppers will also find them to be incredibly knowledgeable about the various designers and brands the store carries.

Finally, after your shoe indulgence, you should indulge some more (after all this is Paris), at one of the cafés located throughout the store (Angelina’s for instance) or go across the street to Galeries Lafayette’s gourmet food hall and indulge on a variety of international fare and top wines.
