Hop On-Hop Off Bus

Great way to see Paris!g

Want to see Paris, but short on time, cash and energy? My suggestion – buy a ticket on a hop on-hop off bus.

In approximately two hours you will see some of the worlds most iconic structures such as the Eiffel Tower, Arc Du Triomphe, Notre Dame and the Paris Opera. The service allows you to hop off along a predesignated route to explore historic sites or grab a bite to eat. Then, when ready, hop back on and continue your city tour.

Typically, open top double decker buses are used. So with weather permitting (especially April-October) you will be able to tour Paris from on high - which is truly exuberating. The windows on the lower level are very wide for optimal viewing.

Several bus operators offer Paris hop on - hop off tours. Two of the most popular being the Big Bus and L’Open Tour. It is almost impossible to walk through the city center without seeing the bright red Big Bus or the neon yellow L’Open Tour. Both bus companies offer similar Paris tour routes and rates, which vary depending on time of year.

The various routes, hop off spots and hop on times are easy to follow and are clearly marked on a free color-coded map given to all passengers and available to anyone visiting the Paris Tourist Office or the Tourist Information Desk at Charles de Gaulle airport.

Pre-Covid rates (late spring) ranged from €34 to €39 for one and two day tickets. €48 for a one day ticket and river cruise combo. A river cruise, especially at night, is also a wonderful vantage point from which to view Paris.
