Get a dose of great food and atmosphere at DOSE!

Updated: Aug 26

DOSE, a hip and somewhat chic, little Parisian cafe located / sits on rue Mouffetard heading towards Place de la Contrescarpe in the Latin Quarter. There is outdoor seating, but the morning of my visit (I was there) it was cold and rainy so I sat indoors.

I'm sure women work at the cafe, but upon entering there were three cute guys in attendance - all very nice and hospitable. The one on the register, took my order and explained in pretty good English, I might add, their selection of baked goods. They actually have a variety of gluten-free items.

I was starving, so for breakfast I chose the pancakes which were topped with fresh berries, crushed hazelnuts and maple syrup. The mixture of flavors in my mouth was

Come for the breakfast or lunch. It's all good. Look at that plate of waffles passing by! Or the salad with quiche! But if you are interested in lunch, remember DOSE is quite small or "cosy" as the French like to say. So there may be a wait for a table.

Laid back, but in a chic not ultra bohemian way. I saw people studying, working in their "cafe office" and those, like myself, out for a nice meal and coffee - which are reasonably priced. My pancakes were only 8 euros. I would like to add, their coffee is accompanied by great music. We're talking the softer, smoother tracks of Dylan, Aretha, the Stones, Stevie Wonder, the Black Eyed Peas and cool tunes by modern French artists.

DOSE, a real gem of a cafe in a not so touristy area of the Latin Quarter. Fantastic food, great ambience and very good service. Definitely a Chic But Cheap find!
